AOD offers life-changing job training scholarships to low-income adults when fundraising allows.  The scholarships are for various programs selected by AOD that can be completed in two years or less at schools such as J.F. Drake State Technical and Community College, Calhoun Community College, and Global Tech Institute.  Selected programs include Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Welding, Engineering Grahics (drafting), and more.

General Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  • Demonstrate financial need (priority is given to applicants whose income is near or below federal poverty guidelines for size of family, as evidenced by most recent tax return or other proof of income)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • U.S. citizen
  • High School graduate or GED, or enrolled in Calhoun’s Dual Enrollment program
  • Current driver’s license, not a learners permit (or state issued identification card if disabilities prevent driving)
  • Bank account in name of scholarship recipient
  • AOD will background check potential selectees. Any criminal record will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Unfortunately, we do not have any scholarship opportunities at this time and are not taking applications.  When fundraising permits, we will announce new scholarship opportunities.  Sign up on the right side of this page to be notified of future application cycles as they arise.
